Transcript of the Hume Letter
Rathedmond June 3rd 1819
I regret extremely that your letter of the 15th of March last should have remained so long unreplied to. It was left at my mother’s office in Sligo and put up through mistake and only reached me today. I have searched through my late father’s papers and made every enquiry respecting the map you mention but can find no trace of it. My mother has no recollection of it. If I could make it out you should with pleasure have the use of it. I propose being in the County of Donegal in a few days and if I can learn in whose possession the map is I shall endeavour to get it for you. I shall feel pleasure in rendering to you or any old friend of my father’s any accommodation or service in my power.
I am Dear Sir
Your obedient and humble servant
